Bobbi Premack Gorban
Fiber Artist

Bobbi is a fiber artist and an art educator. She has blended her love of art with teaching young children, teens and adults in various settings. She has developed several art programs for Jewish day schools and synagogue religious schools, highlighting Judaic artists and their art forms. She has conducted many workshops and classes as well as being the artist in residence at local fine arts camps.

Her fiber focus is on Judaic art for life cycle events – kippot, tallitot, chuppot, and other wedding items as well as challah and matza covers. Several are one-of-a-kind themes, such as women in the Bible. She has created personal name and message plaques using her own Judaic alphabet. She has appeared in several shows, galleries and fairs in the Washington area.

Bobbi has published four needlework booklets. She has developed a line of jewelry and wearable art including “Woven Women” pins. Currently she is teaching art at the Melvin J. Berman Hebrew Academy and Congregation Har Shalom Religious School. She has been Coordinator of the Board of Jewish Education Teacher Resource Center in Northern Virginia and the Bodzin Art Gallery at the Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia. She lives in Potomac, Maryland with her husband Larry. They have three children – Elana, Ben and Jodi.
