Roz Houseknecht has been weaving since 1975. Her work has evolved to include wearable art, Judaica, sculptural forms and adornments. The woven fabric emphasizes color and structure with the use of hand-dyed yarns. More recently felting has taken a prominent place in the creation of wearables and accessories.

Roz works with individuals to design custom tallitot. . Her tallitot have been shown throughout the United States and Canada . Fashion shows at local venues and regional and national conferences have been a way to encourage new designs to showcase an expanding knowledge of techniques. Collaboration with other artists has been stimulating and motivating in the creation of wearable art.

Marketing has been primarily through exhibits at the Potomac Craftsmen Gallery at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria , VA. In association with ArtSites, Roz has shown her Judaic weaving at annual shows throughout the metropolitan area and many Jewish Community Centers and synagogues along the East Coast. Along with a partner, Roz produces hand-dyed yarns and sells them to customers at the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival under the business name: Dyed Dreams .
